aaaRRRGGGHHHH!

dear u.s. government,

i just finished our taxes...we are $350 OVER the amount you can be to qualify for earned income credit for the year 2007. that means we would have had to make:

$29 less dollars a month
$5 less dollars a week
$.012 less cents an hour

COME ON!! WE WERE POOR LAST YEAR!!! JUST GIVE US A BREAK!!

sincerely,
lynsey

Hey Lyn, I feel your pain. We're in a higher tax bracket this year so our refund isn't as exciting as usual. But paying taxes really isn't that bad of a deal - you get roads to drive on, schools for your kids to go to, free healthcare if you can't afford it yourself, libraries, parks, etc. Still, I always wish we all paid the same percentage, no matter how rich or poor you are, no matter how many kids or summer homes you have. Like tithing! God has the perfect tax system!

I agree with Lauren on the everyone paying the same percentage...Lauren for President 2012! The EIC is awesome! I was totally disappointed with our taxes this year too. But we get the stimulus package soon so that's a free chuck of cash! Go George W.!

I agree as well. Although our return this time is the highest we've ever gotten. But I credit that to having to pay one year, depleating our savings account when lance just totalled our car and to our lousy health insurance that won't cover the surgery I had when I was pregnant with Eric. So for all these reasons and more, I do believe we deserve a big tax return this year. Sorry to all those others out there, and I'm not trying to brag....I'm just happy. It seems like we're always the one getting the short end of the stick. So YEA tax returns! And I'm thinking I'll now have bad luck for saying the above info. and will probably be hit by lightning or something, but for the moment the world is a wonderfull place.

been there, done that. Looking forward to the stimulus cash. I've got a lumpectomy to pay for. Again. Maybe there'll be some change left over for a pedicure.

I feel you sister, it's a new situation for all of us that have just recently made our way out of poverty.

Oh man! Fortunately, we still live well below the poverty line and look forward to tax time--but I am sure someday things will be different. But it is a bummer to be SO close to the limit!!!
